Afaridoun’s parents are viciously murdered by Zahak. But just before Zahak’s soldiers get to kill Afaridoun, Kaveh, the ironsmith, rescues him and takes him to the sanctuary of the Alborz Mountains. There, Afaridoun grows up to be a competent warrior, however he is determined to avenge his parents’ blood and the thoughts of vengeance have clouded his judgment. Afaridoun has to win his inner battle, first, before he is able to save the people of Jamkard.

ZAHAK
Corrupted with power, Zahak is imprisoned by evil spirits. He cunningly takes over the Persian throne, and spreads fear and terror. But he has a weakness in a shape of a gentle and fair princess who’s confined in the palace. Zahhak is thorn: Should he succumb to his dark desires, or can overcome the most sinister of spirits and save his own soul along with the lives of Persian people.

ARSHIA
He has been a great Vizier of Persian Empire for as long as the kingdom existed. But after years of Zahak’s ruling, Arshia seems to have changed allegiance, but no one knows where his loyalty lies. Arshia is, certainly, harboring an ominous secret.

KAVEH
As an ironsmith, Kaveh always believed in rule of law, but recently certain events has made him question his principals. Seven of his sons have gone to work in the palace but they have not returned, and haven’t been seen for months. Something very sinister is transpiring and Kaveh can’t seem to justify Zahak’s actions and cruelty any more.

کاوه در جوانی در جنگ‌های جمشید در مقابل اهریمن حضور داشته. او زمانی از جنگ بازمی‌گردد که همسرش جان داده و او را با هشت پسرش تنها گذاشته است. بعد از این اتفاق، کاوه تصمیم می‌گیرد تنها به آهنگری بپردازد و فرزندانش را از میدان‌های نبرد دور نگاه دارد. اما هفت پسر او که برای کار به کارگاه‌های ضحاک رفته بودند قربانی ستم ضحاک شده و جان می‌بازند. کاوه که این بی‌عدالتی را تاب نمی‌آورد به البرز می‌رود و سپاهی از مردم معترض را در مقابل ضحاک گرد هم می‌آورد.
